About:

Designing Outfits for Professionals Everywhere (D.O.P.E.) Designs was a project that I created in collaboration with Kelly Grey for my Intro to Java Final. We developed a prototype of the project in Java, testing out basic features that we hope to further develop and expand upon in later iterations.

The program is an outfit/style planner that allows the user to first input their name, gender, & fashion sense/style, and occasion, then provides 3 outfit options according to the information that they have input. After selecting an option, the app links you to the store’s website where you can purchase the outfit. This project was developed with the intention of helping to alleviate the stress of having to choose the perfect outfit for an occasion. In future iterations, we would like to further develop this into an app where users create a profile where they can keep a record of their own clothing for the outfit planner in addition to getting fashion inspiration and a sharing function so that users can share outfits with one another.

Audience:

The audience for this project is Black men & women (aged 25-40 yrs), who are young working professionals and would like to spend less time trying to figure what they want to wear & more time out in the world having fun! This project solves the problem of option paralysis when it comes to fashion choices for our users.
